Fair Housing

The short answer

Gold Peach Realty, the publisher of Dahlonega Closing Guide, supports the Fair Housing Act and equal housing opportunity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin, and this guide describes laws, steps, offices and costs, never the people who buy or sell.

Last checked October 19, 2026

The federal Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin. The same closing steps, taxes and documents apply to every buyer and seller, and this guide explains them the same way for everyone.

If you believe you have experienced housing discrimination, you can contact the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Education, not legal advice. Statutes, fees and forms change; every rule on this page links to the law or office that sets it. Your closing attorney and your contract decide what applies to your closing.

Gold Peach Realty is the North Georgia brokerage behind this guide. Our agents write and negotiate the purchase contract, track the due-diligence and closing dates, and coordinate with the closing attorney, the lender and the other side until the deed is recorded. We are real estate agents, not lawyers: legal questions go to a Georgia attorney.
